Styling: Olivia

Day 138:
Styled and photographed Olivia this morning. It’s nice to have tall, skinny friends who are willing to be my live mannequins. It’s so much less awkward to dress them as opposed to dressing models I don’t know.

Day 136:
Had such a fantastic weekend with the fam. Le sister came down from NorCal and my parents cooked us so much food. We basically spent the entire weekend eating [best way to spend a weekend tbh]. We finished off this weekend’s food fest with brunch at Old Vine Café before my sister flew back up and I left to go back to school. Now I’m sitting here going through my pictures and salivating.

Day 132:
One of my favorite photographs from this weekend. In a way, this picture kind of sums up my weekend—edible art. My belated 21st birthday dinner at the Joël Robuchon restaurant was beyond amazing. This was the first Michelin star restaurant I’ve eaten at and the 3 stars do not disappoint. The Sage at the Aria was also fantastic for Saturday night’s dinner before watching Le Rêve at the Wynn. And of course, the Sunday morning buffet before heading back to school wasn’t bad either. Basically this weekend was unreal and all sorts of fantastic.
Day 130:
Yes, I did in fact make this shirt. Designed the print and everything. This piece of fabric was the only one that was printed exactly the way I wanted it. Unfortunately the Manet design and the other weird print turned out way too light for my liking so I will be returning those. But I’m seriously so tired from making this shirt I don’t even care. I don’t know what I was thinking when I planned to make three shirts this weekend. I didn’t have patterns so I had to do everything freehand so there was some trial and error but ultimately it turned out okay. I’m satisfied and rewarding myself with some girl scout cookies.
Oh and I cut my own hair on a whim. It reduced my blow drying time in half. Love life.

Before Dinner @ Peohe’s
San Diego, California
January 2012
Day 129:
Dinner at Peohe’s tonight consisted of:
Ahi pokie wonton tacos with wasabi cream sauce and rice
Breaded tilapia stuffed with crab
Macadamia nut ice cream with a chocolate crust
It was alright. The place looks like the little mermaid lives there and the lighting wasn’t too great where I was sitting so none of the food pictures turned out well on my phone. But here’s a photo of the view we would have enjoyed had we been seated by the window.
Day 127:
Went thrifting this morning with a friend and almost left empty-handed until I spotted an SLR camera behind the counter on our way out. We played around with it for a while and tried to spot signs of damage and couldn’t find any so ultimately, I bought this 1967 Sears TLS SLR. Now I just need film and possibly a film converter…I seriously wish my mom hadn’t tossed the 10+ packs of film we had laying around the house.
